Appliances

  • Collected curbside by an outside company (Call Norman Hicks at 309-846-8020), which charges a nominal fee for refrigerant removal for refrigerators and freezers for curbside collection
  • Can be dropped off at the Citizen Convenience Center at no additional charge
  • Includes stoves, refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, microwaves, dehumidifiers, air conditioners, and water heaters.
  • Refrigerators and/or freezers must have doors removed and cannot contain food or bulk. You may also take appliances to the Citizen Convenience Center at no additional charge.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

  • Not accepted for curbside pickup or drop-off
  • HHW disposal events are typically coordinated by the Ecology Action Center
  • Visit http://www.hhwmclean.org for more information about HHW disposal in McLean County, including a list of materials
